Lee
County is served by a first-rate public school system, as well
as outstanding colleges and universities.
The Lee
County School System serves approximately 3,600 students has
fourteen schools. There are nine elementary schools, two middle
schools, two high schools, and a career-technical school. The
high school curriculum offers college preparatory, honors, dual
placement, advanced placement, fine arts, vocational, and special
education classes.
Public colleges
and universities such as Mountain
Empire Community College and The
University of Virginia’s College at Wise have a variety
of programs to provide excellent opportunities for students to
continue their education after graduating. Nearby Lincoln
Memorial University is a private, four-year institution located
in Harrogate, Tennessee. Many other colleges are located within
easy commuting distance from the county.
