Transportation

Lee County is centrally located between I-81 and I-75 and is served
by many arterial four-lane highways, including U.S. 23 and U.S.
58.
The county is served by a new airport that was completed in 2004.
Lee County Airport in Jonesville is equipped with a 5,000 ft.
runway that can accommodate small jet service. Commercial air
service is available at Tri-Cities Regional
Airport in Blountville, Tennessee, which is located 60 miles
from Jonesville; or at McGhee
Tyson Airport in Knoxville, Tennesse, which is located 90
minutes from Lee County.
The county’s rail needs are met by both Norfolk Southern and
CSX Transportation,
and more than thirty motor freight companies provide freight services
in the county.
